Welcome to another great year at Ryan Elementary! This will be my 11th year teaching 2nd grade and I am thrilled to be working alongside such a wonderful team of educators. I started as a student at Ryan which makes me an original HawkSTAR! I am so grateful to be part of such a dedicated and supportive community.

My path to become an educator started at the University of Colorado Denver where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I continued my passion for education by going back a second time to receive my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

Aside from teaching, I love spending time with my husband, my son Liam, and our energetic Lab Retriever, Bentley. Being a Colorado Native, I love experiencing what our beautiful state has to offer. I enjoy spending time outdoors, going fishing, and attending sports games.

I look forward to another great year in second grade!

This will be my sixth year teaching at Ryan Elementary, and my third year teaching Second Grade! I am so excited to get to revisit and read some of my favorite Second grade stories.

Formerly, I was the Director for Ryan's School Age Enrichment program. I ran the SAE program for two and a half years and fell in love with the Ryan families, the staff, and the school. I wanted to be even more a part of the community so I enrolled in Graduate school to receive my Masters degree in Elementary Education,  and the rest as they say is history!

I have a wonderful little family consisting of my fiance, Steven, and a toy poodle named Charlie, they are my whole world. Steven and I are getting married Labor Day weekend, and then taking a little Honeymoon in Estes Park. Charlie is going to be our ring bearer!

I love to do anything outdoors and I love to read. I am over the moon about getting the opportunity to teach your children, and hope I can help them love learning as much as I do!

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! This will be my thirteenth year of teaching and my first here at Ryan Elementary. I have experience in both general education and gifted classrooms.  I love teaching and showing students how much they can grow throughout the school year.  Being able to be a part of the Ryan community means a lot to me and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else!

Growing up I attended Jeffco schools, in Arvada, from kindergarten through 12th grade. I then attended Metro State University where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and my teaching license. After that, I received my Gifted and Talented endorsement and truly enjoy being a lifelong learner.

When I am not at school I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.  My husband, Jeff, and I love to have game nights, watch movies and go to escape rooms.  Our 3 kids keep us going all the time.  Braydon (11) enjoys playing competitive baseball and golf. McKenze (7) loves doing gymnastics and playing pretend.  Kyliegh (2) wants to be with her big brother and sister all the time (we even call her our little shadow).

Teaching is my passion and I couldn't think of a better profession! I am going on my 23rd year of teaching with experience in kindergarten, first, and second grade. I completed my master's degree in curriculum instruction and thrive on being a life long learner. I have taught in Jefferson County for 19 years and 4 years in the Boston area, where my children were born.

I have been married for 18 years to my husband, Scott. We have two children, Noah (13) and Addie (15).

When I'm not teaching, I enjoy hiking, running, skiing, camping, and overall being with my family and being outdoors.

I believe that all children are capable of learning and have a right to learn in a safe, positive and nurturing environment. I feel that partnership with teacher/parent is crucial in order for each child's success in the his/her educational career.

I look forward to an amazing year teaching your child!
